Katsina LG Empowers 140 Entrepreneurs with ₦7 Million Support Fund

Katsina Local Government has disbursed ₦7 million as financial support to 140 small-scale entrepreneurs in the Arewa “A”, with each beneficiary receiving ₦50,000 to boost their businesses.

The empowerment programme was launched on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Multipurpose Women Centre in Katsina.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isah Miqidad AD Saude, expressed gratitude to God for granting him the opportunity to fulfil his responsibility to the people. He urged the beneficiaries to invest the funds wisely by combining them with their existing resources to expand their businesses, stressing that the initiative was aimed at strengthening the local economy.

Also addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina Local Government, Hon. Mustapha Musa Kofar Bai, assured that the party leadership was committed to supporting the council in its development programmes.

In his remarks, the lawmaker representing Katsina Local Government in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Albaba, commended the initiative, noting that such interventions would enhance business growth and community development. He also advised the beneficiaries to extend the knowledge gained from the support scheme to others.

Similarly, the Councillor representing Arewa “A” constituency, Hon. Kamala Mamman, welcomed the guests and thanked the council chairman for prioritising his constituency. He prayed for continued success in the chairman’s efforts.

Other dignitaries who spoke at the event included Hon. Dahiru Gambarawa and Hon. Tanimu Sada.
